I wanted to work with him on cornering some tonight

Pappy
05-10-2006, 06:54 PM
He got in some good practice and cornering is improving.

Pappy
05-10-2006, 06:56 PM
teaching him how to use berms isnt too hard. He does better when someone is behind him pushing him to go faster

Pappy
05-10-2006, 06:57 PM
After 20 laps he was doing great

05-10-2006, 06:58 PM
u pretty much live out tthere now huh? :blah:

Pappy

I am just so stoked Dan was able to fight the good fight and get this place running. There is a 2 page article in one of teh magazines(I plum forgot even though I just saw it at the track) Maybe dan will see this thread and chime in....or someone can scan teh article and post it. It is all about the facility and tells a bit of the battle Dan had to wage to keep the track open.

Pappy

Cody is working hard at getting himself in shape and I need him to ride to work out all the bugs in teh quad.

Pappy
05-10-2006, 07:06 PM
I just enjoy watching him ride more then anything i think:p

Pappy
05-10-2006, 07:08 PM
And Breezewood's Youth track is the perfect spot for him to hone his MX skills

It will depend on how many show up. Cody said if noone shows up but little kids he will gladly watch instead of race, unless a pitbike rider wants to run him:devil:

My dad did not spend time with me unless we were working:p

Pappy

paps we all enjoy the pics and can tell cody is a darn good rider...but i think its time for a video so we can enjoy his skills to the full extent.:D

Pappy
05-10-2006, 07:51 PM
I do have some video, and i will do my best to edit it and try and find a way to get it up. im on dial up so thats out:scary: id send a copy to harlen but he is so busy i would hate to add to his problems

Pappy
05-10-2006, 07:53 PM
wvspeedfreak can atest to what him and I witnessed when a YFZ rider dropped in on cody and got his *** handed to him...including a kickazz lookback over the big table:D

Pappy
05-10-2006, 07:55 PM
Dan has a small trail loop that is easy for just about any age rider. Cody took a few laps but they were working on it so we cut it short

WhiteYFZ
05-10-2006, 07:56 PM
if u send it to me, i can do some editing.. throw his favorite song is, put a tidle and some stuff..

Pappy
05-10-2006, 07:56 PM
Out on the big track we developed issues. A dirty airfilter had to be changed and as soon as he got going a motor mount bolt disappeared

Pappy
05-10-2006, 07:58 PM
WhiteYFZ I may do that. I can burn it to a dvd

Here is the look at that 60 foot downhill cody wants badly to hit. I will faint when he finally does it

Pappy

From this angle that same jump looks tame

Pappy

That was awesome. As I was watching the yfz trying to get around him I actually was a little nervous for Cody.I mean a 12 year old kid on a trx90 being chased around the track by a 450,then he pulled a lookback on him over the table top and I was like Dayumm :macho

WhiteYFZ
05-10-2006, 08:04 PM
it looks so much longer in that oter picture.. anyway, u cna send it to me on a dvd, or u can just send it thourgh aim which will be 100 times easier..,;)

GO FOR IT!!!

WhiteYFZ
05-10-2006, 08:53 PM
if u do decide to get him one, buy it while hees in school so when he ocmes home u can say hey cody.. go look at ur quad i cleaned it up or something liek that.. and have the blaster sitting there.lol.. i just thought that would be a cool idea..

Pappy
05-10-2006, 08:56 PM
I think he is getting to the point where he wants and needs more power, but is so used to the trx90 it scares him a bit. He doesnt do good on new things until he realizes its all in his head:p

The blaster fits him the best, I reckon I will look around for a deal so he can grow into that when the 90 is done.

I wish i lived closer to this breezewood... how long do you reckon the drive would be from southeastern michigan? I'm like 2 min away from toledo ohio......

WhiteYFZ
05-10-2006, 08:58 PM
dumb question, but ill ask it anyway..
since hte suspension and exrything on that quad it perfect, is it possible to put a blaster engine on the 90?

Pappy
05-10-2006, 09:02 PM
Not sure on drive time from Michigan...maybe 12 hours:confused:

I will look into another swap...but even Cody is growing and he knows his days on a mini are almost over. After this summer I doubt he will be comfortable riding one:ermm:

Great pics pappy, looks like he's doing good. Might want to get that boy some goggles though:D I know hes probably not getting roosted much, sounds like he's doing the roosting:D but might save some dirt in the eyes.

He has them and he wears them. Alot of times he will wear them, then when I pull him aside they fog up and he will leave them off for a few laps. He was all alone yesterday, only other machinery moving about was Dan on his skidloader 1/2 mile away:p

Pappy ... you should've just kept the 450r ... take the engine out and swap engines everytime he needs more power . ... would been a lot cheaper . LOL

Pappy
05-11-2006, 07:08 AM
I still have the 450R engine:cool:

I think I will lower, widen and prep the YFZ for him and skip the blaster.

I bet the YFZ would fit him perfectly . I'm a small guy and found that the YFZ fit me like a glove . The quad doesn't seem as big as others ... even on a 450r I didn't feel comfortable mostly because of the gas tank positioning and the fender positioning .

The only thing my short arse needed on the YFZ was a set of higher handlebars . Assuming Cody isn't as tall as I am ( I'm only 5'8") , the bars would probably be at perfect height for him .

Pappy

He rides my YFZ, he can actually do all the jumps at my place, but needs more seat time. The bad part is still the balance and weight but the YFZ is very close to being just right as long as he is easy on the throttle.

Hey pappy where you been? You gonna let him race any xc's on that mean machine? By the way he is lookin good!

Give him a few kicks in the rear and feed him his wheaties and he'll be throwing the YFZ around in no time . ;)

So I guess he's really into MX eh?? I figured he would have been more into XC racing for some reason . You got a future pro on your hands .

He wants to race a few XC events, but $$$ is in tight supply for travel expenses.

ballz2thewall
05-11-2006, 12:13 PM
I don't wish wrecking on anyone but I believe he got everything he deserved:devil: Cody also got an ***** full of front fender!

Pappy
05-11-2006, 12:20 PM
There is a battle scar on the left rear fender from it, but thankfully noone was hurt.
