Has this ever happened to anyone. Colby says gotta rip the whole thing apart to fix it. So, I am trying to decide if I want to go to a 426, 440, or 465?

Any advice is appreciated...

common problem. i just welded mine back on, was only gonna be a few weeks, but i will rock the welded shifter till it breaks again.

as for the rebuild, up to you man. they all have their perks, but i would say a 416 or a 426, but thats just me.

If you've got the money, take full advantage of having the cases split. Install a HD connecting rod and/or stroke it.

It happened to me, but just after the rebuild:ermm:

Replacing the shift shaft really isn't that difficult. The cases do need to be split but I don't know if getting into the crank and rod neccessary, unless you plan on getting a higher than usual compression piston (12+ ?) and are doing it yourself. If you're paying someone to do the work it may be worth it to send the extra $$ for a better rod.
