Well.....are you talking about 660's or 700's? Also, alot depends on how good you know your quad's powerband and shift points.

>>I think in a drag, it would be very close. But that is justmy $.02

*Race them to find out*:D

Your banshee is basically stock. If the raptor (660 or 700) has a pipe you had better learn how to eat dirt. A stock 700 will probably beat you but a stock 660 is a good race.

raptor 660 vz banshe its all the rider but if its the 700 it will win but the 660 and 700 are close in a sand drag

I don't know if you guys race much or what, but a Banshee will rip up a 660; I say this as a 660 owner (well until it got stolen a week ago, but that's another story)...I've never even ridden a Banshee, so I have no reason to put my bike down. Banshee is a 2-stroke. Most 2-strokes, 250's and above, will beat MOST 4-strokes. My brother has an 1988 250 Susuki (LR or somethin' like that...2-stroke) that takes off faster than mine.

The key to winning is: make sure the drag strip is really long. In the long run has been my only chance at even getting close to a Banshee. Off the line they are outrageous.

i have beat banshees when my raptor was stock you most not know how to ride if you got beat

when both are stock, it would be a close race! But if you start modding them, a banshee usually wins. ( there are exceptions)

700 raptor is fastest of the 3 but they are all close enough that rider skill makes the difference.
banshee is faster than the 660 in a 300' drag

Im with fandl450r on this one................race and find out

Yea exactly look at a blaster to a 400ex, a blaster will put up a good race against a 400ex but the 400ex has alittle more so i think it would be close race but a banshee will end up on top

if you got a stock banshee vs a raptor 700r, your gona get smoked!!!!!!

First off a blaster wont put up a good race against a 400ex, dont know where you came up with that. And a banshee and a 660 raptor should be about even, I would say its in the rider. When my 440ex was a stock 400ex, I won some and lost some to stock banshee's, it all depended on who I raced. The better rider should win with those 2 bikes.
And 50 lashes for thinking a blaster can even hang with a 400ex:chinese:

all i know is that down and st.joe state park when i go down there i try to race my 660 with jets and exhaust and banshees are just tearin me apart, they are all heavily heavily modded though lol. never raced a stock banshee

that raptor in the link had a pipe and barely beat the stock banshee, looks about right. also 4 strokes dont need to be double to beat a 2 if both are similar designs. look at the 400ex and blaster, ud think by 'theory" theyd be close, but they arent. a blaster is closer to a 300ex. in this case stock raptors are just plain dogs with a SOMEWHAT low tech design and stock they are close, but usually its the banshee if it is ridden right

250r4life

well by that logic...

a piped and filtered raptor is pretty dang the same as a piped and filtered 250r...

246cc vs 660cc...

it is more complicated than just cc's... just like a 450cc yfz is much faster than a 660cc raptor

QuadOwner
07-12-2006, 04:34 PM
i did say cc to cc with THE SAME ENGINE DESIGN meaning air cooled 2 stroke vs air cooled 4 stroke or 250r vs say a 450r etc. i sure as hell know it isnt just cc, but i am saying u dont need double on a 4 stroke of the same design to win

thats not true with a piped 660 ucz my friend has a 1995 banshee completley stock and he raced a 660 witha supertrap pipe on it and air filter and beat it...but the 700 would probly kill a stock banshee

This thread is pretty much ridicules, no two posts agree with each other.

A banshee is faster than a frog, and a raptor is slower than a horse. End of discusion.

no we raced more then once i just put that one there cuz thats the only time we won the other 3 times we raced it was a tie

In the sand a slightly modified raptor 700 will beat a slightly modified banshee pretty easy. I race againist banshees alot in the sand dunes in Oklahoma. In a 300ft drag only the highly modified banshees will beat you. I have a 700 and it is piped, contolled and new air intake, getting 50hp and it is fun to smoke the banshees.

You rookies are funny. Rider skill is a huge factor. Forget about piped this and mod that. Learn how to get a good start and shift at the right time and you can beat a faster bike than you are riding.

On a side not when I race MX I almost always get the holeshot and I have done this on atv's with stock pipes against fully modded hi compression motors. Its kinda funny after the race they always want to know what I have done to it. I tell them it is still stock and thier face is priceless.

You know if you posted this in the Banshee section, they would start comparing 70 hp big time modded drag Banshee motors to stock 660's and start drooling all over themselves... The 2 stroke crowd is in denial - a sort of piston envy...

If all you wanna do is go in a straight line (yawn), then Banshee's are it.

The subject of who is faster will end up with who spent the most. There is always somebody with deeper pockets.

Yes..........the deepest pockets win most of the time.
