Just ordered Sparks exhaust, jet kit, and ail filter charger kit yesterday. Wondering if anyone else has done so and jetted teh bike to Sparks' specs as shown on site...It says 175 main NcQv needle on 4th clip, pilot 45, and 2 to 2.5 turns on fuel screw. Wondering if anyone else has followed these specs and had good luck? Just hoping i dont have to spend a whole damn day this weekend tryin to get ti spot on. Raptor took me forever with white brothers settings..Hoping for some better luck.. Thanks

Thats pretty close to what I had in mine. Except I used a 170 main, never tried the 175 to see if it was better or worse.

I went with 172, clip on 3rd and 21/2 turns out and it runs perfect.

As long as your close you should be fine. Some people run way diffrent jetting on the same type of machine with similar mods and both will have good results.

The jetting they provided was pretty close for me when I had my Sparks on the YFZ ..... but you could probably run a lower main like the others said . I kept mine rich cuz of the cooler weatehr up here .... I could have even ran a 178 if I wanted to .

Okay thanks guys...got it last night..installed everything last night...175 main, 4th clip up and 2.5 turns..45 pilot...worked great...might try the 172....when you guys jet your bikes...do you remove carb..throttle cable and all that stuff...seemed like alot...????

Jal, thats the way to do it man, sounds like a lot, but it will save you time in the end. Taking the cable out isnt a big deal either... pretty easy. if you cant loosen any of the clamps on either side of the carb, just peel the boot side back (It will slide off of the carb) and twist the carb out of the front clamps. it'll take you under 5 minutes to get the carb off once your used to it.

Quick question i have a sparks pipe and have been messing with the jetting for too long. I've got everything were it should be, and still can't get it to idle, only way it will idle is if i just move the throttle 1/8" and its good. So what i'm thinking is that i have something wrong with how the throttle cable goes into the carb. Since the cable has 2 spots on the wheel to go does it go to the closest or the farthest one away? and does the position of the adjustment nuts on the cable have to do with anything besides tightening up slack?

the throttle cable goes into the closest hole.
