Round 4 of the ITP Quad Cross was finally back at Glen Helen After being away from this track for four months.

There where many changes to the track since the last round. But the woops were still there, and the riders were enjoying trying to triple into them.

There where many great surprises at this round. Including the fact that Kory Ellis showed up. Kory has not been able to attend the ITP QuadCrosses because he has been running nationals. Kory is running 9th overall at nationals, and we are glad to see our LOCAL PRO doing so well.

Bonjour - which is good morning in French - was another word that some what suprised people. Romain Couprie, from France, was out here for two weeks to race an ITP Quad Cross, and head to Red Budd the following week for the national.

Romain was one of the nicest guys, and although he could not speak much English, he was a really cool guy to talk to.

There where 18 pros lined up to race, and with some of the top pros here, we where all wondering who would grab the holeshot.

It was Doug Eichner number 11, who grabbed the holeshot for the first moto.

Around the second corner they went, with Eichner in the lead, Spooner in second, and Ellis in third. Shortly after Spooner hit Nelson, causing them both to tangle and get stuck for awhile.

Nelson was quick to take the lead, followed by Ellis for the first lap.

Ellis tried to make the pass on Nelson, but was unable to do so.

Eichner and Spooner where finally untangled and back on the track.

Kory Ellis saw and opportunity to make the pass on Nelson, and took it.

Dustin Terry was running in the third place. Terry has had some unfortunate races this past year, and we are glad to see him running out in the front, and on his own bike FINALLY!

Romain Couprie was running in the fourth spot, and showing us he did not make the trip out here for no reason.

Darrel Patton made his return back to the track, without a cast on. Patton had been injured with a broken wrist and clavicle for the past few months. We are glad to see that he his healed and back out there.

Kory Ellis was in the lead, and had put some distance between himself and the second place Dustin Nelson.

But Dustin was not even about to give up, and continued to ride hard.

Mean while Couprie was closing the gap on the third place rider, Dustin Terry. But Would Couprie have enough time to make the pass.

Terry slipped and went to wide in a corner allowing Couprie to make the move.

Kory Ellis grabbed the win for the first moto, with Dustin Nelson taking second, and Romain Couprie grabbing third.

Second moto was off, and it was Ellis out front. Couprie after having a bad start worked his way into the second place position quickly, and set his eyes on making the pass on Ellis.

Courpie was also quick to make the pass, and put distance between himself and Ellis.

Eichner and Spooner where able to get around the track without getting tangled this time, and were followed closley by Mike Machado.

As Couprie lead the race, he managed to just put more distance between himself and Ellis.

Couprie went on to take the overall for the second moto, but with a 3-1 finish, he ended up third for the day.

Ellis grabbed second for the second moto, but managed to take home the overall for the day with s 1-2 finish.

Dustin Nelson took home the third place points with a 2-3 finish.

You can bet Romain Couprie was happy to take home a second place. Couprie is now heading to Red Budd for the national, and then will be flying back home to France. He plans to come back to ITP QuadCross next year, and you can be sure that we will be waiting for his return.

Gordon Lanik took the win for the 4 Stroke Novice class with a 3-1 finish. This is one of the larger classes of the day, and probably one of the most competitive.

Brittany Bloodworth, one of the few to triple into the woops, seemed to be having some problems this weekend, after crashing in the first moto of the guys class.

Bradey Szymanski took the win gor the 8-11 yeards 71-90 2 Stroke class with a 1-1 finish.

Tommy Harris took the second place position with a 2-2 finish.

And Kyle Gillespie grabbed the third place position with a 3-3 finish.

Lynn Prosser took home the win for the Women's Intermediate class with a 2-1 finish. Bloodworth took home second for the weekend, and Danielle Amundson grabbed third.
