thinkin bout a 250r

hey help me out here......ive got an '03 250 ex that i love.....but i want somethin else......i can get a 250r with a aftermarket exhaust and new nerf bars.......its in great shape jus rebuilt......or i can go with somethin else......wat should i do.......by the way i can trade my ex straight up for the r .........wats the r's top speed and how is the handling?

do it up. i just finished my R and i am so happy with it. i would rather have my 250R than any of the new 450's. the riding position is the most comfortable of any bike (to me) and the hit of the powerband is awsome. if you can trade your ex for it then deffineatly go for it as long as it is in decent shape.

thanx i think i may go ride it 2morra......how fast will it go stock?!?!?! how much work and wat will i need to get it up to a 450r???wat is this gona put me out in money????

It should go around 70-75 stock. To get the motor up to par with a 450 you would need a good pipe, cool head, reed, and reed cage, and some good port work, and that should get you up around with a piped and maybe a camed 450. With those mods expect to spend around 7-1000 dollars.

I know I wouldn't trade a mint 250R even for a 450R

FMF fatty gold exhaust
Boyeson reeds
ESR 38mm Keihin Airstryker
ESR CR Ignition
ESR Airbox eliminator
1989 CR 250 Head gasket
Wiseco .40? over Piston
175lbs of compression
100 octane low lead W/amsoil Dominator 50:1
and 30+ hrs of hard motorcross/gravel pit/River riding, I can still pull a yfz 450 with a cam and white bros exhaust and every suzuki ltr450 and honda trx450 that I have came across.. :devil: In a drag race and most other riding... R's are the stuff!:devil:
