i'd take the tmaxx. we have two. every r/c "thing" that we've had has been traxxas. BTW, is it the older one with the 1.5 or the newer 2.5?

on the t-max the front bulkheads break often. ( where the a-arms mount to the chassis)

the team losi car is pretty nice, as long as it doesent have the stock mach .15 motor, the pull start on them never works rite.
and If it doesent have on, an aluminum rear shock tower is a good investment.

good luck with the maxx ... kindof old technology nowadays but they are still good bashers.

can't win races with them anymore though...

best advice for the maxx is to keep slop out of the drivetrain...the drop in picco motors are a good upgrade too with the xtm pipe

I dont know what an mc59 is but id seriously look into a rechargable ignitor and/or one that you can charge in the car

Yeah, I used to be real big into that not too long ago. I am about to sell pretty much all of my stuff (RC) though. The only truck that has ever really been a champ to me was my XTM Mammoth. I love that truck! Probably one of maybe two or three I may keep.:ermm:

drop in a O.S v-spec:devil: thing is a .21 motor that absolutly ripps! to bad its over 300$.

O.S standard buggie engine .21cc BHP 1.9 @ 30,000 rpm
Practical max Rpm 35,000
O.S v-spec .21cc BHP2.8 @ 33,000rpm
Practical max rpm 40,000

Either one of them motors will rip the tranny in that little xxx-nt apart. But throw that v-spec in a revo or t-max and you will have somthin.

i am going to keep it for a while and buy a new 3.3 T-maxx but i need $ first( 463.95 ) and my friend has a tc3 i might get off him

05-12-2006, 06:31 AM
Get a savage if anything theyre bigger and so much more stronger and reliable . i drove mine off of a my roof and nothing happened. pkus if you roll it its got the handle that will prtect the gear box and such. pop wheelies any wher, I could stoppie it. the thing was amazing. just got kind of bored after a while.I could shoot it up on a a almost 90 degree quarter pipe and come straight down and it was fine.

I love my Savage. 42 mph on the neighbors radar in his patrol car. I take it every where I take my quad. I beat the dog snot out of it every time I get a chance.

The Revo is a trillion times better than a T-maxx by any means IMO. If your gonna get a Traxxas, go with the Revo. For the $435.00+ you will be dishing out for a new T-maxx 3.3, it is not worth it. Personally, I would take the Revo over it any day..... it is just an all around better truck. The Savage is a nice truck, but you said you don't really like their products. HPI makes stuff that can be beaten to hell and drive back on factory parts, but lets face it, the Savage isn't very fast, and it handles badly compared to some of these new trucks on the market. So, what are you going to be doing with it anyway? :D

If racing it is a just a maybe, I'd say go with either a Savage or a LST2. The LST2 is a better basher than the Savage but your going to pay more for it, and for the parts to fix it. The best out-of-the-box basher under $450 is going to be a savage. Parts are cheap, when you do brake something, and the aftermarket is huge. Lower the CG with a new set of TVPs and change the gearing and it will run circles around a Revo with the same tires.

don't forget the mgt if your looking for a monster to bash or race ... thats what i'm running right now with a picco .26. gotta love them big blocks.

speaking of big blocks ... i got a traxxas t-maxx for sale with a hardcore racing big block extended chassis kit, mach .26 big block motor. steel cvds in the center, aluminum skids ... i'll look it over and get a complete list if anyone is interested. its the same size as my mgt now with the bigger chassis so it uses mgt bodies. make me an offer on this if anyone is interested.

i'm also getting rid of a duratrax maximum st (nitro) ... all stock, a duratrax evader (electric) with a spare for parts...make offers

LOL, I forgot all about this thread. For what you want to do, I haven't seen many trucks better than the Revo. They work really well in those conditions and have some crazy suspention.

As far as trucks like the LST, look past them. The LST is not the best basher by any means. To be honest, it is the crappiest truck I have ever seen as far as quality. They break constantly, and for a truck as expensive as they are, you still have to dump a bunch of cash to get them going right. The LST2 isn't too bad, but it still needs a little work. I have to say though, the LST2 is one butt ugly truck. If you don't believe me about the LST, I have a few friends that got them and eventually all ended up selling them for something different

As far as bashing, the Savage is still the king in my eyes, but that is about where it ends. The Revo is and always will destroy the Savage on the track.

Whatever you get, I am sure that you will be happy. I am just trying to open up your eyes to some other choices which I feel are better trucks.
