So I turn 18 in a few days and I got the thing in the mail from the selective service system. What exactly am I doing by sending this in?? I know its to put u in the lottery pool if theres a draft, Does anyone think that there will be another draft any time soon??

I kinda thought so, because they have the reserves and then there are so many people that are WILLING to go to war...right?

You should register with selective service. You can not get gov't grants or student loans if you do not. As for the draft that was just a big scare tactic that one political party tried to use to try to scare people into voting for them. There will not be a draft, at least not anytime soon.

It might be illegal not to send that in...........I dont remember for sure

Yes it is 100% against the law not to register for selective service.

I already registered, so thats not an issue...I was just wondering what I signed up for
