Has anyone tried the clutch mod on the rockinhorseweb website?
If so, can you tell an difference in performance and stuff? I just ordered the clutch disk and was gonna do it when it gets here. Just wondering if it really makes a difference.
Thanks

I heard of some folks using that method. I would really like to know also if this really works, and that it will hold up longer than the stock set-up. Someone PLEASE shed some light on this!

The inner fiber plate that is being replaced has a bigger inside diameter, therefore it has less friction surface than the other fibers. I have done this on my 04 since it was new with no problems.

Thanks for the replies... but could someone please give some sort of review? Like can you tell a difference in how it grabs and stuff?

Thanks

it makes the bike feel like it pulls a little harder because the clutch doesn't slip. sometimes you might hear a bit of a squall noise from the clutch when you are trying to slip it. kind of sounds like it does when your brake pads are shot. other than that it changes the way the clutch feels a little bit. but its a good upgrade.

Cool... thats what i wanted to hear. Is this squall sound a bad thing?... what is that sound for?

That squall is not a bad thing. My full Hinson set-up did it all the time. It comes from you trying to slip the clutch, but the clutch wants to grab.

I noticed improvement in how the clutch grabbed. I've never heard any noise comming from the clutch. To me the clutch has a more positive feel, more noticable when slipping the clutch. Off the line I really have not noticed a big difference in my starts, they seem the same. Just the clutch has a better feel to it.
