Lt 230 riders

I am getting an old LT230, just to play with, along with my 250, and i was wondering if there is anything i should watch out for, or must do, or not do, or anything about this quad u can tell me, anything at all. b.c idk ****tt lol

Manual clutch 5 speed, really awkward kick start, Not much low end.

the only major problem with this machine is the axle bearings get worn and causes play in the axle which causes the chain to be thrown and it will likely crack the left side of the motor case. this happened to me when i had mine, and i searched on the internet and found it to be a very common problem. just make sure you check the play in the axle from time to time and keep the chain tightened.

otherwise, this is a good quad to play around on.

I too had a 230 Quadsport and it threw the chain, cracking the side case. It had good low end with the exhaust (DG I think) and was a good play bike. It would hang with a 300ex.

A mechanic that did some of my work for me retrofitted a case saver from a 250r on my 230 and It never cracked the case again. but definitely check the chain tension before every ride! Also keep the carb clean, my throttle has stuck causing my engine to rev far too hard and my top end went poof!
