I just got an '02 250ex for my son.

Does anyone know of another stock shock that will bolt up to this machine? I am looking for something that is adjustable. The shocks that are on it are in great shape but he is pretty light and I would like to soften the suspension up for him.

Thanks for any suggestions.

you can use a 300EX front shock that has some adjustablity and a 400EX front shock on the rear which has a much lighter spring than the stock rear and some adjustability......if you want to get rid of those stockers if they are in good shape pm me.....I am intersted...my wifes 250EX...the shocks are in rough shape....

Thanks, I'll start looking into that.

Like I said the ones that are on it are like new. I don't think the quad was ridden very much at all.
I'll let you know if I change them out.

How did you use 300ex shocks on the front of the 250ex? Aren't 300ex shocks longer than the 250's? Any pics of the setup? It sounds like the 400ex rear shock might work but the mounts are different.

the rear of my wifes 250 ex was way too stiff for her so i put a front shock off my 400EX on the rear of her 250 and she loves it.didnt change the ride hieght either as the 400 shock is a little longer then the 250 shock.i just had to make 2 spacers for the top mounts as the top mount on the 400 shock is thinner than the 250 shock
