she aint gonna start....please help

Hey guys my darn mechanic is on vacation at the grand canyon and my 465 is not wantin to run at all so i need some help....it has the works ya know pipe piston valves valve springs hardend rockers cam ect. but my problem is i cant get it to start it starts for a second feels like the carb is about to blow up and its a 39mm pipe backfires and it dies so i need some help doods if anyone can its appriciated:D

Not trying to flame but, what makes you think the carb is about to blow up?

Mine will do that if I forget to put the air filter back on after cleaning it. In other words, way lean.

if it backfires don't that mean it is getting to much gas, and it is getting into the exhaust, is your plug fouled??????

yeah my plug is dark black its popping not backfiring i cleaned the K&N and it still dont wanna start.....its not lean i dont think cause its been loading up when i hit it and bogging down......let me know guys i hafta get ready for a race soon.....THANKS
