lsr axle problem

Does the lsr axle need a spacer between the sprocket hub and the carrier? Because my axle gets pushed to far and grinds against the carrier. I cant tighten the axle nut any more because I run out of threads. What could be the problem?

Yes there should have been a spacer that came with the axle. It's actually in the bag with the instructions.
