I have a parking break block off and i still have the big stock perch, so i want to get an aftermarket perch/lever to clean things up a bit. whats a good brand? ive heard alot of good about ASV but ive also heard they wont work if you still have the black box with the starter and lights switch.....something about there not being enough room, so what should i get

get the ASV F-3 pro perch. I have one on my 450r and i still have the black box and it works fine on mine.

EDIT: But when you pull in the clutch the clutch does hit it. Liek it dosent go all the way in. But it still works.

what about MSR? i need a clutch that i can pull all the way in and wont interfere with the black box. and what is an adjust-on-the-fly clutch???

i dunno about MSR but with the asv you can get the quick adjust, it works perfect. Its not like the black box dosent get in the way, its justyou dont have to pull the clutch in all the way to engage it.

whats different with the quick adjust? i thought all the aftermarket perches came adjustable.

anyone who has likes/dislikes or experience with different perches, please post your info and opinions because i need to order some parts tonight, and i have no clue which perch/lever to get. (keep in mind im keeping the stock starter/lights setup)

You know how on the stock set up there is the dial and the threaded thing and its a ***** to adjust. on a quick adjust u just turn the dial and it adjusts the play very easily. Works connection is top of the line. Also with aftermarket quick adjust setups dont get a shorty clutch lever it justs increases arm pump. You want a longer lever so u can mover it further across the bars and that will make the lever easier to pull in because more leverage if u under stand what im saying.

How is MSR? do they hit the starter/lights box? i cant see myself paying $130 for a works connection perch and lever. this MSR is only $30

thats perfectly fine has the quick adjust nice long lever 2 rubber boots to keep dust out of the cable so when u lube it dirt doesnt stick to it. Go for it.

Heres an idea switch the lights/start box with wear the clutch is. Mount the clutch on the outside of the box thats what i did when i had asv levers and the stock box on the bars.

As far a clutches being hard to pull i run a stock clutch with an asv shorty lever and i pull my clutch in with one or two finger easily.

hope its not a piece of crap. i'd like to get a works connection or a sunline but they are $90-130

i like my SRP EZpull lever...not problems

i have a ASV lever on a Moose perch, the perch is a POS the first one cross threaded and stripped befor i could use it, just real cheap metal, but all in all it is a good set up i havnt had any problems since., then i wired together the 2 wires from the clutch sensor thing, you dont need that. just dotn touch you're starter button with the clutch out, cuasre it will try to turn over you're engien and kill youre starter. next i want to buy 2 kill switchesd ( one to use as a starter) and totally elimintae the black box, all this BARELY fits onto renthals bars with acerbis handguards

can you wire it with an aftermarket perch so that it will start in any gear with the clutch pulled in, but not with the clutch out unless its in nuetral, like it does stock?

i have the Msr Adjust on the Fly with hot start. My friend has the works connection that he paid $180 and there identical except different colors. They work wit the black box too.

Get a dirtbike killswitch cut the wires in the back and hook them up to get rid of that blck box crap. My Msr looks real nice. and seems Strong.

that little box on your perch is just a switch, when you clutch is in it closes the electrical circut and you can start it. with the wires wired togethre that circut is closed forever. so you can start it when ever ( even with the clutch out...bad) so if you do it just dont be an idiot and press the start button with youre clutch out.

MSR Dominator XR400 perch and lever. I paid $18.00 for everything. It works with everything on the bars.

I can smash just about anything. So far my asv has held up. I laughed when the dealer told me it had a 5 year warentee, if I broght it back broken he would give me a brandy new on on the spot. Other than a bunch of freeplay ( end of the lever moving up and doun) this clutch has lasted sprisingly well. I thot for shure I would have done something to it by now.
The only reason that it has lots of play up and doun is because Im running a sparks clutch that is a bare to pull in, and the aluminum can only hold up for so long. this clutch literaly streches out cables instantly, I buy a new cable every month because they snap.

oh, I just put on on my buddies 06 trx450, yep it hits on the black box that has all your lights and starter button. I just heated up a skrewdriver with a torch and pushed the plastic in some on the box. works mint now.

pic of my lever.
note: my quad doesent look like that pos anymore.
