As usual.. even though this site is no longer exriders, and most of the kids posting have just joined in the last year... I think it's still a predominant Honda site. That's ok... ;)

I too have not had any probs with my LT-R450. Yes, it can be an iffy decision to buy a first year model of anything... But so far so good.

Only problem I've had so far is pushing the old LT outta the way to get the new one out to ride! :p

If you want one now, buy it. I don't see many changes coming for the 07 LT-R.

Only reason I posted cause my buddies looking to get a 450 of some sort.. And he kinda likes the LTR450, but doesn't know much about it.

My ltr has had no problems to speak of also. I think they did their homework on this quad. If you are waiting till October I think you will see other quad Mfg companies release LTR race ready quads similar.

i was thinking about waiting just for the reason of letting them get the bugs out but i couldnt resist. im glad i didnt wait, the bike is great and i havent any problems what so ever, not even taking the graphics off.

read some posts, trans noise and rear link tearing frame are only big probs I have heard of.
yes Im a honda guy and Ill answer his question fairly.

fast@$$rider:
the new ltr is a awsome handleing quad with a ton of potential,
it has the latest technology with long axle/wider a arms and almost long travel shocks, and fuel injection. power is pretty close to the other 450's. A few of the ltr's are having trans noise that is a pretty loud whine (like a gear drive). and the first 06's had probs with the rear frame tearing out where the rear link attatches.(they weld more of the washer now and it seems to be holding well).
thats really about it, only 2 biggies. If you can wait till fall you have more patiants than I do. you will be happy with either.

Only problem I've have with mine is some coolant sloshing out of the recovery bottle while riding. Have had more problems with my '06 honda. In the shop twice for a leaking side case. My only problem is who has to ride one of the hondas because the 'zuki is everyones first choice!

I'm in the same boat as you and i'm gonna wait. The only reason is just to see how it holds up. Then when the new one hits if there is not much of a change i'm gonna get the 06 and it will be cheaper then.

i saw first hand a ltr brake the rear link where it hooks to the frame. It was a 110lbs kid who just went a little to far on a 20ft table. But i think suzuki will fix it for next year.

Second gear noise went away with oil change. The only problem I have had is I have coolant drips on my trailer floor after transport. Does not leak while running. Thank God for extended warranty.
