Where can i get a pipe for a cheap price and what do you recommend? I was looking and i saw a Cobra Megaphone for $90. Any suggestions?

your better off with a stock pipe then anythin cobra or DG, imo. Pro Circuit makes a nice slip-on for about $190...

actually cobra does suck, but DG actually do improve power, but there too loud

look on eBay too, i have foud some good prices for used pipes on there.

please do not waste your money on a cobra exhaust, i did this on my 300... OMG it is SCARY loud..... it sounds like crap i think...
an it isnt made of high quality material either...
i cracked it like within the first 4 weeks i installed it, then i bought a big gun an havent looked at the cobras since...

sounds to me like cobra sucks. i guess ill steer clear of them. what is a good mid-range full exaust. price and manufacture

no cobra, they r horrible, save p for a good pipe. i would get a fmf or i am actually gonna get a ct, look into them they r sweet , with mega gains. www.ctracing.com i am gonna call them in the next few weeks and get one for my raptor. the setup i am gonna get for mine is 600, but its got k&n jets, needles, its got it all rpetty much that a full system too

actually when you call them it is $220 I swear my right hand to god because I have one, and if you dont want the crappy regular looking one you better go with the extra $20 to get it highly polished, that is bringing you to $240... And I asked them for jetting recommendations and they charged and extra $3.. I will never do biz with them again...

actually when you call them it is $220 I swear my right hand to god because I have one, and if you dont want the crappy regular looking one you better go with the extra $20 to get it highly polished, that is bringing you to $240... And I asked them for jetting recommendations and they charged and extra $3.. I will never do biz with them again...

Yeah it is a Modified Supertrapp. I`m not real sure what Tom does to it but whatever it is I don`t think there is a better Slip-On made.

yea actually the hmf is now 220 in the first place b-cuz they have a new endcap that allows for "easier instalation and removal of the spark arrestor" and ya don't have a choice of weather u want it or not so :( but i just ordered one a few hours ago so hopefully they said it'd b sent in 1-2 days then 1 day shipping since were both in ohio so i'm REALLY hopin friday i have a nice big box waitin for me:D i have a question thou, i'm think'n i'm gonna have to change my jetting on my 300 for it, will mabye just an up of the main one size be good? or am i gonna have to get into the pilot jet/screw and the needle too?? cuz i'm not big on tearing apart the carb:confused:

I would go with the T4 from Marcums. It cost me $217 with shipping and all. Great pipe and sounds awesome.

i would go with the pro circuit t-4 if you are lookin for a cheap one....i have heard a lot of good things about them....so i got one...oh yeah and you would have to be on some horrible drugs to by a cobra.....

HMF and DG...I have a DG and it gives great power increases....I dont care how many people hate Dg on here they make pretty nice pipes...also very good looking pipes.....i was at the fair drags on the stock 300 class....well they werent stock they had pipes thats it...i got second place with my dg....and the guy that won they figured out he had a cam and a few other extras but he left...so we couldnt protest

I bought a Supertrapp IDS2 at rocky mountian ATV for $179. Pipe has good reviews. Note pipe comes with race core and is a little loud but it does have a spark arrestor. I like it

I have the HMF slip-on and if you live close stop in and you'll save shippig plus he probably give you better price. The owner and his employee were awesome to deal with. They told me the jetting specs and gave me free uni airbox filters. What did they charge you on jetting???

I did the jetting myself, look in faqs for info it was not to hard and you need to know so when you go higher or lower in alltitude you can adjust

t-4's are ok, Their nice but I don't care for the sound.
I dunno about DG thumper pipes, but their 2-strokes exhausts leak like crap.

On your 300, you should prolly go up 1-2 sizes with the stock air filter and lid on. With a k&n & exhaust, go up 2-3 sizes. And with lid off, exhaust, and k&n go up prolly 4 sizes.
on my ole 300ex, I gota fmf powercore, k&n and the lid removed I went up from a 122 to a 135, and that was a little to rich, so i am now running a 132 (4 sizes up) with no problems!

I think my Cobra pipe is great. It gave me a noticeable power difference. I can now do a wheelie in 1st or 2nd gear while rolling without pulling up on the handlebars or anything. My 285 pound body just sits there than when i hit the gas while rolling the front wheels come up easily. This is a 1987 230 quadsport were talking about now. Yeah i know the 400ex can do that easily because i did actually ride one before, but this is a 230 that is 15 years old and never been rebuilt.

I put the DG RCM on my 300 and for the price I don't think you can beat it, just my $.02!
