I just got my 06 about a month ago and love the thing. I havent really had time to go out and ride it that much. So Tuesday I ordered a Sparks Ceramic Coated Big Core Exhaust System. They dont have any that are ceramic coated so they will be sending out my pipe about Tuesday of next week. I cant wait for it to get here.
I was amazed at how much they wanted for a jet kit:eek2: 45.00 So what i did was buy a 175 main, 55 main, and a NCVQ needle. The NCVQ needle was 25 bucks:eek2: so i saved about 10 bucks.
Back to the pipe, I should get a good increase in power from it. I believe there was a dyno on a Rossier and Sparks X-6(not big core) and they got 6-7 hp. So I should be getting a little more than that. :blah: And I will also be getting the HRC kit in about a month.
I will keep you guys posted on the installation and anything else you want. I will also post pics:devil:

Yeah since you got the jets and different needle all you need now is to buy a cam.

yah thats a good point. I will probably end up just getting a cam instead of the whole kit. Prbly a HC STG II.
Today I ordered a KN Filter, Precharger, and a Outerwear Airbox Cover. Should be a nice combo with my Sparks Exhaust im getting.
Have any of you had any problems with your outerwear covers for your airbox, do they stay??

i dought it makes the limit. sparks are known for some huge power but also loud pipes. if your worried about sound HMF is the way to go. they have a great quiet pipe that puts out as much power as the ballance series. or you can get a quiet core for any of the pipes. let us know how the sparks turns out

that would be nice if that was the decibels its putting out!
I have a question, what kind of horsepower will the bike be putting out when i put the pipe on, air filter, and air lid removed?? im thinking 47 hp, tell me if im off.

I'd say more around 44-45, because I talked to Sparks and he told me with the pipe and his aggressive drop-in cam alone I should be gettin around 46-47, but I dont know if he figured in the airfilter, and takin the lid off. So its very possible to get those numbers I think. I wish his 06 pistons were ready, I wanted to order one of those too, but he is still fine tuning them.

well i remember a dyno of about ten pipes and the X-6 made 6-7 hp on a 05 450r. and a rossier a little more, so a big core should give us a lot of power. But i am thinking of getting a HC Stg II or if i could find a HRC cam. THen i should be near 50. Well see how it works out.
ALso when are you gettting your pipe, he said mine will be here wednesday.

yah same here!!!!! What are you doing for your airbox cover. I ordered a outerwear to cover the airbox, and a kn filter with precharger. Do you think that will be enough protection without a lid???
Should I modify the airbox lid to make it more protected???

That will be enough protection. For right now, since I forgot to order what I needed, im just gonna run the lid off with a K&N prefilter. Eventually im gonna get that lid from EHS racing. Its like what you were sayin, like an outerwear integrated into the lid.

yah i think im goin to order the EHS lid also. I heard a lot of people are having trouble with the outerwears fitting the 06 box. So ill just get a EHS.

i need help installing the pipe. The header and silencer pipe are really close in size. Which one is supposed to slide into the other. Also do you need a gasket where the pipes fit together???
I need help.

not sure about the gasket, but the silencer should slide into the header

well the header pipe was a tad bit smaller so i slid that end into the silencer pipe. I had to use soap to get some sort of lube to get it to slide on better.

have you tested it out yet?

ok i got everything figured out. I just needed to slip the silencer over the header pipe. So its installed, and it needs to be jetted. I will get pics for you tomorrow but i wont be getting to test it out until late this week or early next. I aslo need to get the filter, precharger, and EHS lid. It will be an awesome bike with this stuff!!!!

Awesome man. My pipe, cam, jet kit, and filter are all coming in today for sure, because he sent it overnight. I'll be testing it out this weekend at the track. I cant wait either!
