What is the problem with mixing ZPS with standard? Specifically front ZPS and standard rear.

ZPS shocks (zero pre-load) sit quite a bit lower and are generally softer than non-ZPS shocks, but are built to your weight, so the preload adjustment is not necessary. The stock rear is not ZPS so it will be stiffer and sit higher. Basically it doesn't make for an "even" setup front and rear cause the springs will react differently.

I'm not sure if that makes sense or not. Maybe someone else can explain it better?

Note: if you purchase new fronts that are ZPS, you can always send your stock rear to C&D to get rebuilt and converted to ZPS.

I'm running ZPS rear and non fronts, it's fine. Can't say for the other way around though.

I used to run ZPS fronts and standard rear on my old 400ex, it worked pretty good, but now that I have ZPS front and rear, its a big difference, the front and rear shocks work perfectly together.
