ok well first off I sent out my frame to get powdercoated at a local place which was called eyecatcher blue. I wanted my frame, subframe, and all 4 hubs done with this blue ( I put the color of it in my thread) and it was a bright pretty blue. Well today when i went to pick up my frame and stuff it was a really dark navy type blue and it looks black in the shade! the guy said that it was the same color as we wanted. He now says that he cant guarentee the right blue but he didnt say this before we wanted it done so im really mad about this. The front hubs look similiar to it but the frame and rear hubs dont look like it at all. So he said in order to re powdercoat it would cost another 50 percent off of what we paid which would be about 450!

So my question is does people that powdercoat and get stuff done are not guarenteed to get the color they want and waste about 300 dollars or should the powdercoat come out the way it was on the color card? plz reply back

btw sorry for the long post and I will get pictures in a bit

I would of left it there and told em to fix it or your not paying for anything? Have you paid for it yet?
But tell the manager and if they don't do anything, then get the proper authorities to deal with em.. Thats crap and I wouldn't let em walk all over me like that.

Man, I got my frame and subframe pc's for $125, and it turned out great. It was a place in Decatur IL, and they were super nice to work with. I pm'd pappy about it but I never heard back from him.

It should have come close to the color card. I can not speak for the shop that did your work, but I do know that alot of the color chips are off, especially when you apply the powedr at the needed rate to get full coverage of a part.

If the shop had not shot alot of this color to know what color shift would be, then I would say thats on them. I always tell folks upfront on a new color so that both of us are prepared ....infact I will shoot a test part before hand so i know what to expect and can inform the customer.

Good luck, be nice and try and work it out with the shop.

 I have no PM's in my box. I always keep it clean. Oh well, no hard feelings. I got it local, so no shipping costs. I have seen the pics of what you do and it is awesome. I will try and hit you up again next time.

The only thing I think they did good on was the header pipe and heat shield with the ceramic jet hot and the front hubs look pretty close to the paint thing they gave us. But why is the frame that color, it should be like the blue above

Yup make em redo it, but don't pay for them to redo it again make them pay for their own mistakes.. If they don't redo it I wouldn't pay them, what are they going to do file a lawsuit? Do the same saying thats not what you asked for and that your not paying for something that you didn't ask for... Just what I would do if I was you..
