Hey all, just curious to what you guys would think about taking the stock baffle out of my muffler on my 06 ER. I have heard another TRX without it, and it sounded pretty good for a stock pipe. Will I loose any performance? Can it hurt the motor of the bike?
Thanks,
Josh

do it!! doesn't hurt anything. before i got my rossier, i took the baffle out right when i bought the bike and it ran great and it does sound pretty decent for a stock pipe. as long as you don't need the spark arrester where you ride, you should be fine

ya id like to do the same thing, The other day I took out the baffle and took the airbox lid off and it would cut out under hard acceleration (Lean?) so i put the lid and baffle right back in. What would you recommend for a jetting size?

i'm doing the same this weekend........removing the baffle, removing the lid and rejetting.....i've been throught the posts here and have asked several people... i'm gonna start with a 165 main jet, 42 pilot, and 2 turns on the screw, with the lid off and the baffle out!!!

typically you shouldn't have to rejet just taking the baffle out but taking the lid off may require a richer jet now that your letting more air into the system. jetting really depends on your elevation and temperature. i run a 168 main and 45 needle -my elevation is about 2700 feet. if you're closer to sea level try a 168-172 main.
would you feel any more power gains or no.

my 06 with hrc and k&n.
I took out the ama sound reducer from the exhaust and it hurt the power (I was getting the best of my buddy by a full length but
after removing it he was right beside me).
it was only 3 screws from end cap and 2 more holding it in.
it was alot louder with it out for sure. It is back in and will stay in
untill I get my black rossier.
it didnt feel any different and the noise may make it sound like its moving faster but in my outcome it slowed it down a little.
