hello, got a few questions for anyone and everyone. I have a 2005 400ex. Im looking to make it alittle faster and quicker. I dont want to do a big bore kit, mainley because there is nobody around me that can do the install for me, and i dont know enough to do so.

I want to know what are the best and most effective mods to increace speed and qucikness. I want to beable to come out of corners faster to gain speed for a small track we have in the yard.

I have now a slip on exhaust from DMC, its the afterburner kit.

what else should i do to it.

i was considering a REV box, and some other small stuff....

what would you reccomend?

A cheap mod if you already didn't do it is pull the airbox lid off or drill holes through it and rejet it. This will give you a decent increase in power.

a stock bore high comp piston, a cam, port work, a bigger carb or even removing the choke on your carb will all give you a gain.

i would do the rev kit for alot of power gains all around. the white bros. is the best i have seen it has a more aggresive power curve and is cheap. like $40.00. i have one and an exhaust and ilove it.

gear the bike down. 14 tooth front, either use the timing advance key, or rev box. not both. open you air box and re-je thte carb. remove the choke plate in the carb.

I'd change your sprocket, get a rev box and drill holes in your lid, like everyone else said. Those were some of the first minor things i did on my quad. Next, possibly go for a bigger carb hence a 450 carb. Lastly look on ebay for things, you can find some great deals if you know what your looking for.

thats been discused already it lets the air flow straighter through your carb and go under articles on this site and it tells every thing.
