View Full Version : 450r motor in a 02 400ex ?

i have removed my engine from my 02 ex for a rebuild an have a line on a good 450r motor is it worth converting over or what possible problems will i run into?

if you can get the motor for a good price then i would go for it. I have always wanted to do a 400ex hybrid with the 450r motor. I am not sure on the possible problems that you might run into. I think there is a lil clearence issue with the gas tank and motor. but i think it would be a fun projects and very rewarding in the end
i say do it.

i would definetaly say do it, i was thinking about doing this with mine, and would love to see how it works out incase i want to do it in the future

If you don't already have a 450r motor set up I'd look for a CRF engine. I'm planning on having JB convert my frame and get a CRF450 in it next winter.
