2006 450r air cleaner

Im gonna be jetting my carb soon and some other lil mods what do you guys think of the stock air cleaner? can I run it with the lid removed and it will be fine? or do I HAVE to go aftermarket? if I dont I wanna leave it. just want some input. thanks !!

You can always take the lid off then put on the outerwear filter cover. Just make sure you spray the filter with some filter oil. You should be ok

the stock air cleaner is good quality,I will uese mine till it needs replacing,all dirt bike don't have air box lids so don't worry about that.:D
