I just got a repalcement 88 jug ported by Neil (C-Leigh Raing) and a fresh bore to a 66.75mm piston. My jetting is currently SPOT on with my stock jug (based on plug chops and overall performance). Here's my current combo.....
stock 88 jug w/ 66.5mm piston
Keihin 38mm PWK A/S Carb
CR250 reed cage
ESR Cool Head w/ 23cc dome
FMF Fatty pipe
FMF turbine core 2 silencer
stock gearing, stock tires
Everything else is pretty much all OEM. I am at sea level here in FL, and my current jetting is:
168 main, 45 pilot, DDK needle on 3rd clip. It starts perfectly on 1st kick, idles perfectly, ect ect.
Now I am swapping out jugs for the ported one, which is ported for midrange power. Any suggestions on jetting changes??
I have about 10 different needles to play with, the only two that are richer than the DDK is a DGH and DDL. I am thinking that the 4th or 5th clip on the DDK will be sufficient, if not, the 3rd clip on the DDL should be more than enough.
I was going to jump up to a 48 pilot and 185 main. Any objections to these starting points???
thanks in advance!
