i WAS TOLD ONCE THAT 400EX SPINDELS WILL FIT ON 86 250R A ARMS... IS THIS TRUE?

yep they will bolt up.....but the calipers won't bolt to the 400EX spindles without an adapter from walsh or baldwin......

yes they will bolt right up. I just put that set up on my R and I used the 400ex brake and spindles

the best thing to do is use 450R spindles... i did a how too on this board sumwhere actually.

yes, or get the expensive adapters to use the 400ex spindles with the 250r calipers

What about the rotors?
I have several sets of 250r... will those work or no?
Also, 400ex spindels are Aluminum right?

The single piston 400EX calipers do not work as well as the dual piston 250R calipers. '88-'89 and 400EX use the same tapered hubs with a 3-bolt mount for the calipers.
If you can find everything else for cheap (400EX spindles, hubs and 250R calipers) I would contact Baldwain Motorsports, or one of the other makers, and get the adapters to use 250R calipers on 400EX spindles. Cost is $150~$200 for the pair.
If you want all new parts the 450R setup is the route to go.
