Here's the deal,i have a 300ex and ive out grown it.I dont have the money for a new quad so im going to turn this into some thing good.What type of big bore kit should i get,I want one that will let me run with z400's and 400ex's,and i also want one that will get me to 65 to 70 mph with a gear change.Also im going to put new a arm's on it with new shocks.What do i have to do to my bike to put 400ex a arm's on it with 400 ex shock's?Also what kind of new shock can i put on it the back?Can i put a 450r shock on it?I want some thing that will give me more travel and will handle big jumps..Thanks...:D

To put the 400 front end on it you will need a shock mount relocator bracket. You can find them on ebay. Just search for 300ex shock. You will also need the 400ex tie rods also. It isn't the best mod though. I'd suggest doing a search for 300ex with 400ex front end on here to get the full story. The 450r shocks won't fit properly since the relocator brackets are designed for 400ex shocks. (450r shocks are longer) Like trevor said the 01 raptor rear shock will work great. It has to be from an 01 though because it was the only one with a remote rezzie. All other years have a piggy back rezzy and it will not fit. As for keeping up with 400's you'll have to put a lot of money into the 300 to keep up. A 330 kit/350 kit will get you close but the 400's will still probably be a bit faster. A 350x motor would be easier/cheaper in the long run. Honestly for the amount of money you would put into the 300 to make it keep up you could just sell it and buy a 400ex though.

for the $
buying a-arms, shocks, tie rods, big bore, jets, cam, etc.
the 450r's have dropped the price on used 400ex's.
you should be able to sell yours and get a 400ex (prob. with a few goodies) for less than the upgrades to the 300ex.
plus you lose some reliability when you take it to the extreme.
the 400 with mild mods is still super reliable.

well that sucks dont spend the money on any big bores or suspension.just sell it and get a faster quad.thats all there is to it.

riding a 300ex sucks exspecialy when your 6 ft and 175lbs and been riding your whole life.

im 6,2 180 and the 300ex is an awsome machine i love mine. the best mod you can do if your a bigger guy is to raise up the bars i've got a +1 stem and it makes a huge difference, you can stand up with out bending over at all.
