Couple more questions on the 300ex

ok does a 400ex aftermarket bumper fit
i want to get rid of the key switch and use the push button start, on and off switch and a tether kill switch, how do i bypass the key switch the right way.

400ex bumper will fit with some small spacers on the upper mounts. I have one on my 300 and didn't use the spacers. I just bent the mounts in a bit. Can't help you with the tether though.

Just plug the wires together from the key switch and youre good to go with no key.

To go to a dirt bike style style start button is easy. Just pull the two start button wires out of the cluster and wire them to the switch.

For the tether kill switch, just run one wire to the hot side of the coil and the other to ground.

Makes for much cleaner bars.
