****video Ripping Question****

I have a dvd of our dune trip last week. I need software that will rip it into an MPEG or AVI file. Anyone know any good free ones? I have done a search here and didn't come up with anything.
Any help will be appreciated.

I use one called Super DVD Ripper.....it's plain and simple, no bells or whistles....works well though.

Does it rip directly to mpeg or avi? Or does it just put the video .ts and .vob files on the hard drive?
