I'm considering buying a XC race ready 250R with a laeger narrow frame and a protrax front end. Other than those two items as well as an XC with axle I have already on my R.

I'm just wondering if it's really worth shelling out another 4000 - 4500 for it.

If you take away the protrax front end, it's really nothing special.

So is a protrax front really that much better than regular laeger arms and stem?
Especially for XC?

IF I do is anybody in the market for an XC stock frame 88?

I have never ridden a pro trax front end, but from what I have heard about them is nothing but great. If you have the money to get that set up I say go for it.

I am assuming this bike also has a cr500 rear linkage? Most of the laeger narrow frame do. If so its far from your stock frame and that is a good price for one.

yeah it has a cr500 link. A question about that too. He has a works rear shock on it, but I have a standard link elka rear, I won't be able to put it on will I?

CR500 isn't the same as a no link is it?

If I don't pick it up I'll post what the guy will take and pass it on for someone else.

no on the elka and a cr5oo link isn't a no link. the cr500 puts the shock at a more verticle position.

the problem with the bike for xc is that the cr500 linkage hangs low and requires an expensive skid plate. the protrax front is a "delicate" system. alot of moving parts, you need to make sure it's greased and the o rings are in good shape. you could wear it out pretty fast in an xc enviroment if you don't take care of it.

It will be a great handling bike, and the Pro-Trax Front end is top of the line.

If it is in good shape that bike is worth every penny. You will not belive how much better a full Leager's is over a stock R, as long as you have good shocks i.e. PEP ZPS.
