I am about to put together my 426 and will have also changed the timing chain, cam, and clutch. Is there a special weight oil that should be used for the break-in process? What needs to be done, or not done to break-in, that are different than normal?

I disagree with the info given there.

First off, I assume that you're using proper assembly lube. Other than that, use the oil you would normally use. And take it easy on it the first day, no full throttle starts or running it wide open. Then change your oil and adjust your valves after the first 20 hours and you'll be golden.;)

If doing the hard breakin procedure as in that link, wouldn't that contradict what hotcams recommends on initial startup after installation of their cam?

A lot of car guys believe you should use convential oil during break-in and then switch to full synthetic.

you are not supposed to use synthetic oil on break in because the oil is too slick and the rings won't seat properly thus having blowby.
