hello all,
I was wondering what chain lube I could toss on my chain to quite it down a bit and make smoother. I ride at dunes every weekend and dont want something that sand will stick to and eat my sprockets.. someone told me get the chain wax? is this correct?
Thanks in advance

i'm sure you'll get a hundred different opionions on this. i've never used wax so i can't say, but i like the pro honda white graphite chain lube- no sling off, good penetration, etc. I ride nothing but dunes and it works well.

I ride dunes all the time and run the Maxima chain wax. does not fling everywhere and sand does not stick to it bad at all.

Well I don't ride at any dunes, but a few places I ride at have a lot of sand and silt and I also use the Pro Honda. Nothing sticks to it to bad and not much sling off. JMO

I use the Bell Ray Super Clean lube. It's a milky white looking wax type that's not sticky at all once it dries.

I don't run anything. The sand sure does polish your chain though :D

I clean mine real good before going and just a light spray of wd40 - and usually give it another light coat after a few days of sand - - works great & cheap too

WD40 here. All you are doing is coating the outside of the chain. No need for anything fancy.

The o orings hold in all the good stuff.

my buddy wd-40'd his dirtbike chain back in the day. I dont know if he didnt wipe it off good or what, but is ate all the teeth of his rear sprocket! he really thought his clutch was out, but then relized the problem.. it was funny as hell! :D
I just didnt want that to happen.....

WD-40 will seep through the o-rings and dissolve the factory lube. That Bell Ray Super clean really does work good. It stays clean even in mud. It leaves a waxy lube on the chain that's dry and a blue-ish white color.
