I notice that if I am in a drag race or just nailing on pavement, the motor seems to sign off quickly in 2nd gear.I am not hitting the limiter. This happens before I hit the rev limiter.I is not a bog but the engine just seems to flatten out.I really dont notice it on the trail because I cant get the rpms that high.Maybe I am just used to 2 strokes and I am not shifting quickly enough.

it does go flat(for the most part)the honda doesnt make the best of power up top. so past a certain rpm it does quit pulling. the hrc cam or a aftermarket cures that though just my .02

Mine is bone stock for now and I also notice this. I rode an '06 with the HRC kit on it this weekend and from what I can tell angry450r is right. All it had done was the HRC kit and a Sparks BC silencer and it had great power all the way through the powerband. Get the HRC, should fix your problem.

He means that the stock needle is extremely small and non-adjustable. Not a lot of room to work with.

Just re-jet and get an exhaust........also do the green wire mod.

I had a Banshee before my trx450er6. I was unimpressed. Posted a thread on this site and got great responses.
I carried out the mods and am over the moon with the power difference- look out Yamaha450's!!!
Removed the air box lid, changed the main jet to 165., adjusted the air screw, sweet! My 2whlr mates scare the **** out of themselves when they have a short ride, cause that can't handle 4whlrs! YELLA. :macho

Forgot to say, also removed the exhaust restrictor, but left the spark arrestor, but will remove it soon.
Don't know if this is related but after about 3mths of good riding, the engine has started to blow heaps of gearoil out of the gearbox breather onto the exhaust? Honda and my mechanic can't work out why?
Any clues?

The 06's run pretty lean from the factory, put a bigger main like a 165 or 170 in it and take of the airbox lid. You will notice a big difference.

Yes, it will have a variety of jets for different altitudes and set-ups. I'm running a 175 main with a 45 pilot right now....not sure what my needle is set at cuz JH Racing did all the jetting on my bike when the cam was installed...
