making a dual row bearing carrier out of stock carrier

i was looking at my carrier the other day and was thinking if i took it to a machine shop could they make the grouve where the bearing slides into deeper into the carriers so two bearing would fit on each end could this work?

well first off, a dual row carrier is not 4 bearings, but just two wider bearings. The bearing itself ahs dual rows of ball bearings it in, not two actual bearings per side.

ande it may be possible, but you would have to take measurements to make sure there is enough material to work with be fore you even start, .
