Can anyone give me a starting reference for main jet size for a ESR 330, TRX9 porting, pump gas dome, at 2500' elevation with a 38mm a/s carb? I just need a place to start from, ideally a little rich.
Thanks

im running a 200 main in a 303cc topend at about 3000 feet on a warm low humidity day with the pilot jet set perfect on a midle clip DGH needle, with a ported intake and wide open read with a midrange exhaust....... and thas just the tip of the iceburg known as jetting... find a local shop that can maybe help you get a baseline. other wise start huge like 60 in the pilot midle needle clip and a 270 main.... get the pilot jet all settled in then start working down on the main.... and have several plugs ready.... its a lot cheeper to foul a plug then burn a piston.

58 Pilot, DGH middle position, and a 195 main. Ct 330 on race gas at sea level. Mid range port and mid range pipe

What fuel oil ratio are you running? That makes a big difference. I would say a 52 pilot with DDJ needle on 2nd clip and about a 195 main on 20:1 fuel/oil should get you real close and clean. Just check it and make sure you aren't too lean before you go ripping it up too hard.

20:1 is a bit thick aint it? any highquality oil is safe at 40:1 and some go to 60:1 and higher... i run about 53:1 with golden spectro....
