Which do you get hurt in more often; racing or riding?

riding. because i experiment more and push the envelope as much as i can when i'm just riding around. when i'm racing i rely on stuff i already know how to do.

Racing, because when I get into my "race mode" I try to turn double-double's into quadrouples and stupid **** like that.

probably ridin because i know i dont have to stay on the trail, plus the trails are usually harder....and i end up goin too fast and plowin off the trail makin my own trail, or finding drop-offs.
but racing too, i had my first bad wreck a few weeks ago at a race, a guys front tire caught my rear and it jerked my bike and threw me off and it ran over me.....thats part of open wheel racing though

I've never gotten hurt racing, it's always been in my backyard doing stupid things I shouldn't be doing, like not wearing boots and jumping:ermm:

Knock on wood I haven't really gotten injured riding quads. The most I've gotten in justed was some scrapes and bruses from stupid little mistakes.

in my 12 years of racing i have always got more damage from just messing around the house. 3 weeks ago i broke a vertebra in my back. it crazy after 13 gncc, 13 midsouths, and about 7 locals a year, i get hurt just screwing around the yard.

both! screwin around or tryin new stuff when im ridin, but get too much adrenaline runnin when im racin and go over my head. but i learned really fast what my limitations are after a good crash. it keeps people from killing themselves.

riding mostly. like everyone else said, you do more stuff when you're riding because you're not trying to win anything. when i'm racing, i try to find new and faster lines. if that means doing something stupid, so be it. i know that i have to land it because if i dont, im screwed. a couple of weeks ago i decided to do stoppies in my yard and ended up ***king up my wrist. it all depends on your riding style.

hesatation is a horible thing. and wicked hard to spell...

I always seem to smash up when I am just skrewing around localy. so far I havent goten hurt on my quad.
actually I have NEVER broken a bone, knocking on wood...

But I did get 64 stiches up my left nut. Yep you heard me. I'm pretty shrue I would rathe a broken arm than go throu that again.
btw it was on a bmx bike, stufed the landing and the handle bar caught the. well you can imagine what it would take to require 64 stiches.

I have been hurt doing both....

Worse while riding, but more times while racing.

One thing is for sure, Don't get hurt while racing.......cause you are probably going to be flyin, and when you land.....well, you know the drill!

I almost went down in last weeks OMA Race, and I was cruisin! It would have been ugly to say the least, I don't know what I hit, but it smoked one of my bead lock rings, I broke the end of my Camelback when I slammed into the bars, bruised my leg in two places......it felt like I hit a tree....I probably did. lol!
