Thanks !!! It's not mint condition , but so far it's in overall good condition . The plastics are scraped up a bit cuz he rolled it onto one side while doing some rock climbing but other that and it seems pretty solid all around I really didn't care about the scrapes cuz I'll be taking it into the woods anyways and where I ride it's pretty tight woods.

It's too bad the pictures weren't bigger . They were the wrong format , so I put them onto photobucket.com but they still turned out small . :ermm: Ah well ... I'll get better pictures tomorrow or something .

It needs a new battery and possibly a belt ... so I bought both today . I'm charging the battery right now and the belt I'll see how that goes after the first ride .

The guy has over 20k Canadian invested inlcuding the price of the quad . Main reason I bought it , is cuz it's got everything on it ... no need to go out and buy anything else except for a gun boot for hunting season and maybe handlebar muffs for really cold weather .

No No No .... no doubles for me ..... well ok maybe one or two but that's it . :p

I'd get a pipe for it , but I'm thinking it's going to be too loud for what I really want to do with the bike ... but I'll see what happens . If I can find a good deal on an HMF , then I'll pick one up .

I would re route your rear resi's so that the hose is on the inside of the frame tubes just so they would be protected some. That thing looks mean though. They are fast too I raced one with my 300ex and it ate me up I didn't think they were that fast!

Ya I was thinking of doing that to the lines .

I'm not really sure how fast it'll go ... it's got 27 inch tires with a pretty agressive lug on them . I know there's a clutch kit in it to compensate for the tires , but I don't think it'll hit too fast compared to stock .... but time will tell .

The guy I bought it off of , said he could wheelie it pretty good . He was also 230 lbs though . I'll stiffen the rear suspension up some day and see if my skinny a** can wheelie this sucker .

Shock lines will be moved ... hand guards are staying though . Trust me ... riding with 5 other guys and getting nailed by rocks hurts . Plus it can get a bit cool up here sometimes at night and in the winter .

Nice Ute greg, don't you just love those T.O guys, they spend tons of money on quads, have no where or no time to ride them, then sell them off for dirt cheap. I see it all the time in the trader.

Elkas on 4x4s are cool, specially when they have ressies.

Alright guys and gals ... I forgot about this post , but I'll give you a little update on how things went .

So this past Friday I ended up going out riding with my buddy who has a Brute Force ... we went out searching for some mud ...and we found it . We did a loop around a lake in the area and it was a mix of old beat up forest roads and tight technical trails .

So we're going down the trail and we come upon some mud .... time to have fun . So my buddy goes first and he's doing pretty good , until he drops into a deep holes and get's hung up on a tree root ... so we get off and get him unstuck ( stock tires on his BF suck !!!) . My turn now .... so I decide to take a different line through the mud .... as I'm dropping into the hole , I decide to turn on the Diff Lock . I drop in , nail the throttle and it surprised the hell out of me . I wasn't expecting the diff lock to be as hard to handle as I thought it would be and I let off the throttle . MISTAKE !!! I got hung up on a rock in the hole .... now I'm stuck !!! So what better opportunity to try out the Warn 2500lbs winch . We hooked the cable around a tree and yanked the Grizz out with ease .

So far my track record isn't good ... 1st mud hole .... 1st stuck . But now I know how the diff lock works and I know that the winch works ..... ahh peace of mind . ;)

I didn't get stuck at all after that time now that I knew how things handled and responded . The Brute Force on the other hand had quite a few incidents where the winch was needed . :p

Ok so now we're out of the mud and cruising down some fast fire roads/forest roads . I must say , the Elka suspension worked AMAZING . The Brute Force is quicker than I am on acceleration , but I'm still out front because the suspension works well . Where he'd have to slow up because of ruts and rocks and holes , I just throttled it like they weren't even there . In fact it felt liek they weren't even there . The bike stays straight and the shocks soak up the rough stuff .

We traded bikes on the fire road so that my buddy could see the difference the suspension makes . I told him to nail every bump as hard as he could ... he kind of looked at me funny . :huh After about 10 minutes of riding , he pulled over and said he was amazed at how well it soaked up the bumps and how it didn't track all over the place . He's now saving up for suspension for his Brute Force . :blah:

Top speed ...... I didn't push the quad too much as it was my first time out riding it but I was able to hit 90 KM/H ...my buddy's Brute Force tops out at 104 KM/H in stock form ..... I have the 27s and a Clutch kit in mine . On the tight fire roads I was hitting 82 KM/H while we were " racing" back home .

A Utility sure handles a lot differently than a sport quad , but I had a blast on the first ride out . I wouldn't have been able to go where we went on a sport quad . Other than my leg being extremely sore for the last 3 days , I'm surprised my upper body isn't aching , since this is my first ride in 2 years .

I got pics to prove that this quad isn't going to be a trailer/show queen ..... I got her nice and dirt ... the way a 4x4 should be !!!

HAHA Ya I love it . With the exeption of my YFZ450 , I bought all my quads down south so far and all have been pretty good deals . The guy I bought this one off of , just wanted to unload the quad .... I talked to him a couple days after and he bought a dirtbike and a mini quad for his son . He rides around the Haliburton area and says the cops were really cracking down on them . His buddies all sold their Grizzlys so he decided to sell his also .

If you see a good deal on a sport quad in your area let me know . I'd like to pick up another one in the future .

Can't beat the flashy looks of that red though! Wow, looks so good cleaned up!
I had to get out of sport quads before I really did something stupid. I did ride LTrider's new one though and like it, though he chewed all of his nails off while I was on it.:p He had visions of Crazy Honda's YFZ I'm sure.:eek2:

The plastics look good from far , but when you get closer you can see they aren't in perfect shape .... they've been scratched pretty good , but what do you expect from a woods machine right?? Atleast I wasn't the first person to put a scratch on it . :p

Last week I picked up a different rear seat for it ... one from Kimpex .... my girlfriend likes it a lot more than the other old one I got with it . I also went out and bought some fenderguards and footpegs for her so that she's not killing herself trying not to slide forward all the time . I also just put all new brakes and bled them tonight . It's 1:30 am and I got a mud run that I gotta be awake by 6:30 am for later this morning . :ermm: I'll try and get more pics of the bike in action if possible .

You shoulda brought Barts new LTR into a 1 wheel wheelie and took pictures of his face .... those would be priceles images !!! :blah:

that grizzly is just awsome man! ive always wanted to get a 4x4, or atleast ride one with the peformance parts yours has on it... all i can say is, have fun with it.

if you take a heated water pressure washer w/soap (like a manual car wash sprayer) it should take that dryed on mud and redish look around you gearboxes and motor off

Well I just got back from a mud run about an hour ago and holy hell wanna talk about hard work . The trail followed a powerline and crossed some huge swamps . Well 1 of the swamps claimed nearly every quad out there , and there had to be a good 200 of us . The view from the top of a hill before the swamp was awesome for pictures .... guys were all over the place pulling out other guys . I'd have taken a picture , except me girlfriend and I rolled the Grizzly in a small stream/ditch and the camera became submerged in water along with all our other gear . So now I owe her a camera and we have no pictures of our own .... although one of my friends might have a couple off her camera .

I completely buried the Grizz in the swamp . Everything was going well until I hit a stump that I hadn't seen and that was it . It took a Polaris 700 , a Grizzly 660 and a 700 King Quad to winch and 5 guys to push my Grizzly . In all it took about 2 hours to get everyone out of the swamp .

Less than 1/2 a mile further up the trail there was another swamp . ABout 5 of us decided to follow a cop down a small trail to go around it but the trail ended yet we continued to blaze our own trail thinking we'll come out on the other side of the swamp . WRONG !!!! We ended up getting lost in the thick woods for about another 2 hours . Thank God the cop had a GPS so that we could try and make our way back to the original trail . My buddy ended up snapping his chain while we were breaking trail so we had to tow him out . What a damn choire that was ..... pushing over trees with the quads .... breaking fenders , scratching the chit out of the bikes ... not knowing where we were going . We made our way back though ...and decided to call it a day . Most everyone turned around at the 2nd swamp cuz it was even worse than the 1st .

All in all , we had some bad luck but it was an awesome day . I got the Grizzly stuck about 3 or 4 times . Once in the swamp .... once when we rolled it in the stream , a couple other times in some holes that no one made it through all day . I'll try and get the pics off my friend whenever she's online so that I can show you guys how buried this sucker was !!!!:eek2:
