i took some shots of my 05 450r today, i thought id share them with you.

im 16 and i bought the quad brand new last january/february and have payed for 95% of the parts. im still working on paying it off fully but i have a major chunk payed for. when it is fully payed off and after i graduate highschool, im thinking about Possibly trading the r for a z/kfx/400ex and cash because with the way gas prices are looking, i may have to look into some type of street legal motard bike to get around town and commute to college on. I would hate to trade the thing after i spent so much money buying it new and paying it off, but i guess i have to do what i have to do. im done with adding parts now, especially since this summer i will be buying insurance for my 99 rodeo and like i said, possibly start saving up for a bike.

the mod list is:
-Ac bumper w/ screen painted black
-Ac pro peg nerf bars, black nets
-Pro taper Fat bars
-Moose fat bar clamp kit painted flat black
-pro design kill switch
-spider grips
-powermadd handguards
-22in holeshot xcr front tires on douglas red labels
-20in rear holeshot xcr on 9in hipers
-yoshimura comp. slip on exaust
-lsr parking break block off
-race cut fenders
Flat Black:throttle cap,brake rezzy cap,clutch/brake lever mounts,bar mounts,hubs,exaust end cap,exaust strap,p/b block off,all fender brackets

i wouldn't sell it. just ride out the gas prices and work a few more hours a week to compensate.

looks pretty good tho man!

450rs barley use as much gas as a 400ex. I had a full tank in my banshee my buddy had a half tank in his 450r we ran the PISS out of our quads all day and I just about ran out and he just put his on reserve. I wouldnt trade it for anything I would keep it

i hear yah, its not the fact that the gas for the quads is effecting me, i could honestly care less about how much gas the quad uses. however, within the next year/two years im going to be driving alot and commuting to a college which is about a 40-45 mile round trip, and thats where the gas is going to hurt me. if i trade the quad for something + say a grand to $1500, that could help me get a motard bike to get around with and save alot.

or pay off your quad, save now and buy a used 600.

definitly a possibility also. by the time graduation comes around(junior now), i will probably be able to tell if im going to need to trade the r or if ill be able to swing the bike and the r money wise. as you can tell, i think into the future way too much haha.

My sister just picked up a 01 gsx600 for 3 grand it had yoshi exhaust, under tail kit, chrome misc parts and l.e.d lights and little odds and ends..

I'd rather go that route then the enduro bike, I'd feel safer on the roads on one. Though enduro bikes have their ups you can hit a jump on the side of the road on your way to school.

yeah, theyre big but i love them. i mostly ride powerlines and there can be sections with ruts from trucks, trees to ride over, and sometimes even garbage that i have to get over and the tires havnt let me down once. i actually had mx tires and rims on the quad but i came to the conclusion that i should go with function over looks. i was planning on riding mx when i got the quad but i changed my mind, i like the type of riding i do much better now.

thats cool
yea i know what u mean.. when i used to ride some trails down at chatsworth and there were really bad ruts, my quad would actually just get stuck and my 4 wheels would be off the ground lol and it was stitting on the belly of the quad..but thats good that u like them..
thats all that counts;)
