rear axle

IS there a special trick or tool to get the real axle nut off. Someone told me they were reverse threads??? ive tried for hours to get that thing off but it hasnt budged. Anyone help would be greatly appreciated!!!

use a pipe wrench........ people say it will ruin your lock nut........ but i have repeatedly used it on my locknut
