air intake sure sucks twigs

of that FMF is sure worth the full $1000 I paid for it today

was running a sim mod like the Civic Carb @ 160 Jet and the machine would keep bogging out

It would do it no matter what kind of jet I put in unless is was a 150 or a 155

so i took the whole intake system off and just ran it for a min like that

man it was like i hit the machine with NOS

1st and second wernt even there

but now i need to find out why my air intake didnt work

was running a k&N out of a 400 ex and precharger

connected to a 2" pvc pipe with a rubber boot to the carb

the filter sat right inthe old air box

then i shortend the tube to about 3 inches and kept having the bogging problem

I need a filter that will clip right onto the carb and allow max air breathing

any ideas?

Try a 180 main jet you may be way too lean

no i tried all jets from a 155 to a 180
with intake on

If it bogs at lower RPM you may need a larger pilot jet and a richer needle. When you added your filter set up you have increased the amount of air going through your carb

Yeah but if your running with no filter you have more air flow to the carb and thats when it was working the best

when it had more AIR

with a 155 you were jetted WAY to lean for the civic intake or the rath which is similar.

mess with the needle thats where your problem is probally.

ya but i had the same problem when i had a 18 and a 170 and a 165 jet in the carb

took the civic intake off and ran BMG filter right off the carb and my pred awoke

the FMF fact 4 full setup sure complimented this setup and when i Install NOS this week ill be launchin Banshees and ****in YFZ's and hondas

its the pvc pipe its too long cut the pipe to 4 inches and go 170 main it will fly als cut slide spring shorter afew links

what do you mean cut slide spring a few links?

you loose the low end bog if the slide on the carb opens faster, so you cut the spring shorter making less slide tension, i did it and was glad i did . its located inside the brass colored part of carb ..take out two screws carful not to let spring fly out cut 2 or 3 links dont cut too many or it will open slide when doing jumps etc ,let me know alrighty. take carb loose from intake is easier to work on

Ok will try the slide trick and try it this weekend

i bought the BMG filter K&n style filter that clamps right on the carb

works perfect

running a 165 jet @ 2 3/4 out gonna try the spring trick and go to a 170 MJ

is it to my benifit to change the PJ to a 150?

what purpose does this jet do other than the idle?thanks for your imput you da man

ye mine clamped right to carb also ,but you lose that low end instant puch whithout the air volume required to open slide, so ibought the adapter from hom depot and the pvc love the low end torque and plenty of top end .. i tried a larger plot and went bacck to stock pilot seems to have more snap in low end of second

dont mess with the pilot jet if all you have is a pipe and filter. i did that, and it kind of threw me off when i was fine tuneing my jetting. just leave in the stock one, and adjust later!:D

i rode my brothers 700 raptor and he rode my le pred, his runs so smooth through the gears almost makes my pred seem more powerful ,he sais the same..he wont race me till he gets his pipe and computer lol .. i couldnt wheely his very well and when he rode mine he wheeleed accidentaly and messed up the tip of my pipe so i headed out and bought a turn down tip. looks better lol
