Well, I just joined after reading up on the 450r and deciding it would fit me perfectly. This is my birthday/graduation present, (Man I love birthdays). The thing is my birthday isnt till june, I have come across a 450r at a local dealer. Its red with a kickstart, there price is 5699!!!. Is it worth the price, It seems like a good deal to me?

Thanks for the quick reply. I think its a good price, my dad said I will get one by my birthday. I just hate to see him wait just because its not my b-day. Just buy it and have them store it till then would work for me, It just seems kind of foolish to wait another month to get the same bike for 1000 more.

Great price man. Tell your dad he's crazy if he doesn't jump on that. I just paid 6399 out the door for my '06 without the HRC kit.

Hope he will go for it, If he doesn't due to the fact my mom has some say, He said that he would take the loss. Seems stupid to me tho??? Up until this point everything I have bought I have paid for, my Artic-cat, and my yamaha blaster (dont even get me started on that peice of crap:grr: ) It would be nice to have something new that doesn't breakdown all the time. My freind has 2 Hondas a 250 and a 450r, he beats them beyond belif and they still run, I look at my blaster and it wont start. lol

Be carefully 06 kick start for 5600.00.. They are in high demand right now... It might be a 05 kick.. I can see some guys wanting to get rid of their 450er's because guys want the kick bad.

i bought my 06 450R for $6200 OTD brand new. You'd have to be an idiot to not be able to notice a 06 from the 05.

For a kicker that is a smokin' deal!!! We just got an 06 kicker a week ago, and they couldn't budge on the price because they are in such high demand since many arn't satisfied with the e-start ones. The dealer could only throw in some riding gear, but they couldn't move at all on the price... $6500 otd for us..

Yeah I would check the year, I would think that was an '05. they had a hard time gettin rid of them after the news dropped about Honda changin em for 06. I have seen a few '05's in that price range. and it being a kicker....I heard you had to darn near special order those suckers. only 300 made.

Congrats, in the future a sure fire way to tell an '05 from an '06 is to just look at the headlight. The '05 will come up the hood on the sides while the '06 is tucked under the hood.

I haven't ever driven a 400ex however this was my first powerfull quad. I came off of a yamaha blaster, wow is all I have to say. I see many people on here trying to get more acceleration and power out of there bikes (I will try soon to) but the power is on demand with this bike, you hit it and its there.

That is also where I bought mine a month ago. Drove from western Missouri to get it, a 8 hour drive. They only have about 2 left in Missouri and they wanted 6400!!! No price budging whatsoever.

I also came off a 400ex that was pretty close to your set up on yours. Be ready for a whole new world. Power delivery is so much better on these than you have ever dreamed of. Bottom end, mid-range, and top end, it's all there whenever you want it. Be prepared for a great ride. You won't miss the 400, I don't.

i am coming off of a 2000 400ex with a full pipe, k&n, and jetted only. there is a difference, but it is not like "wow---holy shoot" type of difference. it was more like -"ok cool..the front wheels are floating, they are coming up a little more, ok got it, now lets rock"

there was a more of a difference between my 300ex and the 400ex than there is between the 400 and 450. you will like it though
