i have a hrc kit in my 06, wondering if anyone has had the hrc kit and switched over to a different full system. And how much difference between the pipes?

This is a good question.I have the hrc header and just added a Yosh RS7 slip on and am totally happy!I figured Honda knew what they were doing when they designed the header!!!!But im curious also.

I agree I believe that Honda has really looked into making a real winner with the HRC header. JMO but stick with the HRC. Just judging from numbers and dynos I've read. Never seen a full system and a HRC kit line up or anything.

thanks for the info... I feel the same way as you do, but i was talking to esr and they claimed there full system would get 6 more hp than the hrc... i found it hard to believe.

I also find that hard to believe. 6 hp is quite a bit

I wouldn't waste it on a full system. I think the HRC header does great. Someone at the Honda shop told me that the bought a full exhaust set-up ( I think White Brothers?) and only gained 2 bikes in a drag race over the HRC header with a stock/ HRC modified pipe. I think that a slip-on from HMF would do every bit of that with the HRC header, and you can get them for $220.00 shipped with a free UNI airfilter and jets. JMO.

6 Horsepower with a pipe? HAHA I want some of the stuff that they are smoking. I have yet to see any quad gain 6 Horsepower with a pipe and jet kit. I have a friend with a YFZ 450 that gained 4- after taking the airbox lid off with an HMF Full system, a buddy with a 06 Z400 that gained 3 With a full Yosh, and a buddy with an 05 that gained 5.5 with a Full FMF, Jet kit, and Hotcam stage 1. All of those exhaust numbers you hear are bull. I'd definitely stick with the HRC header, and any slip on without the baffle will do ok. I gained .3 Horsepower with a Yosh RS7 slip on, with the HRC Header. The HRC Kit on My 06 gave Me like 7 horsepower.

Gotta stay with the HRC kit. JMO

I have a HRC header with a bills mufflar and it runs great. mind you i ahve had everything else done to it as well but my 06 by far is better than my 05's i had last year and they had pretty much the same set up just different exhaust systems! but yeah honda must have a pretty good idea of what to make, after all they made the engine!

Yeah i agree with you I have never seen just a full system give you that much of hp gain... I am going to stick with my hrc header and get a slip on. Thanks

Great decision. Let us know which one you get and how it performs.
