Aluminum Air Box

This is probably a dumb question but what do you gain with an aluminum air box?

some people like it because most will allow you to mount your battery inside of it, but other than that there are none.

i put a alumn, air box on a z-400,and rejetted it.my buddy had the same quad with same jets,but with a white brother exhaust.both quads were neck to neck.but mind was quite.:p

I had a aluminum air box on my 400ex, it was nothing but problems. I ended up putting the stock plastic one back on after struggling to make the alum. one work for years.

my brand was a umi.i liked mind a lot.the inlet was a bigger diameter,allowing more air flow.no problems with mind.i had it about 1 year.
