I'm sure it's fine. I think the "V-Twin" designation is related to the oil's abilities at coping with the high oil temps found in air-cooled Harley engines. In light of that, it's probably great in a hard-working air cooled 400EX engine.

20w50 is a pretty heavy oil for a 400ex, or at least to me it does. I think 10w40 would be better.

i dont think you'll see any problems. i dont know why you would order v-twin oil :huh

i run Amsoil 10w40 in the 250ex, it's impressive stuff. If i could get mobil 1 atv oil readily available i'd use that instead, though.

ask rico, he seems to be teh local amsoil expert. but it should be fine as otheres have stated. and 20w 50 is great, better than 10w 40. the hot 400ex motor breaks down teh oil due to the heat, so a thicker oil is better for the air cooled motor.

20-50 will be fine.I ran it in my 400ex and now in my 450r with no problems at all.

That's exactly the lube I run in my 330ex. Works great year around. It's pour point is something like -30deg F, so it works fine in the winter as well.
