no matter what i need to get rid of my basket and get a new one because something actually broke off on it, but i'll probably end up getting another used one so i was wondering, is there a point to where it's bad to have ridges on it like between where the discs sit?

like this

it's okay if they're only like that right?

If the clutch isnt smooth when you engage it means the plates are sticking together and not separating all the way. You dont want to have ridges but instead of replacing the whole basket you can file down the ridges. I wouldnt buy a used basket. Why dont you just buy brand new.

i couldnt agree more... thats one of the biggest things ive learned with bikes... if you try to be cheap, it only ends up costing you more money... if you take good care of your bike, she'll take good care of you... save up and get a hinson, i think theyre less than 200 at rockymountainatv...

i would file that. theres not very much wear there. and the hinson basket is going to be very strong to begin with. a little extra metal off it wont matter a bit.
