I just bought a 2002 raptor and i wanted to cut the front fenders on it i am not sure how to do it (what tools do you need)

also any pics of raptors with cut fenders would help so i can get a cool design!!!

I also have one more question did they make raptorswith black and white fenders in 2002?

Yes. I believe the shocks on the 01 were yellow, shocks on 02 were white for the black/white colored bikes. I know the 01 has an aluminum subframe made with square stock, 02 and up has a steel tubular subframe. 01 rear shock was a remote rez, 02 and up are piggy back.

If you are going to cut the fenders, a dremal tool or jig-saw should do. I have seen a lot of guys cut down the indent closest to the outside. That looks cool. If you do cut your fenders, I suggest you take off the headlights. Although, if you still want lights, trail tech makes some cool ones that mount to the handle bars or the frame.:D here is a picture of what I am saying:

Thanks alot guys I am going to cut them this weekend
I took the head lights off already so i can cut them

When i got mine the title said that it was an 02 but it is black and white with yellow shocks but i think that it is an 01:confused:

if it has yellow springs and white and black plastic, it is an 02. my friend just boght one, so u have nothing to worry about.

I thought I might have that backwards, thanks for clearing it up.

The subframe and shock changes are a definate though.

you could also read the vin# if you cut like forementioned, it does look good! i prefer fenders myself, just a little more protection from roost and a place to put more stickers:D
