400EX vs. KFX700

Just wandering how you all think this race would turn out. A guy at work has a stock vForce with a degree key and has been wanting to get together and run the quads. We've rode together in the woods before but haven't had anywhere to open them up. His quad has loads of torque and will wheelie on command at nearly any pace that we've ridden. We just found out that one of the local riding areas now has a 180-200ft. drag strip made up and were thinking of hitting it this weekend.

Is your 400 stock? Those V-force are pretty fast.

I haven't ever raced a 700, but he 400 is a terd. NO contest to a 400ex

A buddy of mine had a vforce that was stock and I had my 400 ex with rev box, k&n, full fmf exhaust and i was a better rider and on the dunes we were neck to neck all the way. My guess is that v twin will spank a stock 400 ex.

Yeah a V twin crotch rocket have torque out the butt. Plus if it has some top end it would eat a 400 up.

yea they will kill a 400, even a piped 450r.

Well we got the chance to line the quads up this weekend and boy was I surprised with the results. This was in a 180ft drag, 3 out of 4 passes I could put my front tire about even with his rear tire. Made me feel real good about the lil' ole red 400. The next surprise was when we swapped quads. He wasn't really used to a clutch so I left off his start. The quad he got me out of the hole was where the race ended. I couldn't get the 700 to pull back past and I had it nailed. Given, with a little more room it would have been different. But in a 180ft drag I was very pleased with the results. By the way, I'll go about 250lbs and Dave will run around 140lbs.

That is pretty impressive, i thought the 400 would of gotten smoked.
