Alright i started a new thread because the other one was pointless. I'm looking at some 20x10x10 paddles for my 450r with a hrc cam, DRD slip-on and K&N Air filter. I was wondering what some of you guys run ?

I run Skat Trak 20x10x10 8 paddle haulers. I definitely wouldn't go anymore than 8 paddles.

I run 9 paddles on my stock 05 450. They work just fine!

Just curious why the other thread was pointless? Was it because you were told not what you wanted to hear? In the other thread I told you that 6s or 7s for duning were the ideal tire, so I will say the same in here again.

6s for the hill
7s for the dunes

Anything more is over paddling your bike. Didnt you want to run 9 Extremes on a pretty stock 450R? Now thats pointless:rolleyes:

That may be pointless in your mind, but they still work just as good as runnig 8's.

it was pointless because it was 2 pages of nothing pretty much. And considering i have never even heard of running a 6 or 7 paddle unless its on a lil kids bike and i have been riding the oregon dunes for 4 years now, that seems a lil interesting, now please quit posting on my thread because i don't want it to turn out like the other one!

There is a lot of information online in different forums on how to paddle 450 class bikes....and some things to consider are how you ride ie. flats / Hills / Dunes and where you ride (ie. type of sand conditions etc.).

Best thing I ever did was reduce the # of paddles I run @ Glamis from 8 to 6....but you may not want to hear about my actual reuslts that since your mind is made up already...

But if anyone else is interested in learning about paddle theory there is a good guy out in CA you can call by the name of Joe @ Fullerton Sand sports...he is one of the top Skat trak dealers on the west coast supplying a good number of the fastest 450's in the West with tires....714-484-5996....ask him how to set up your bike...then post what he says in this thread.

Well this is 2 people that say 6s work better then the larger paddle count..

Good that you bring up Joe. Call him and see what he says, 20 bucks says its 6s or 7s. Also, the fastest 450s on the West Coast were mentioned, which I might add are ALL on 6s or 7s.

Lazer- Ive been going to the dunes for 20 years, whats your point? Take it for what its worth, but you are wasting your money with more paddles. But hey do what you gotta do.

8 will be a lot for a near stock bike with the cam your running. The HRC pulls a litle of the bottom and a bike that has a high first gear anyway.

I would try 7 thats what I ran with a near stock bike for duning. I run a 20x10x10 8 padle hauler now with a well built 480 and do just fine:D

If your dead set on 8's run the pressure up on them to keep them from hooking up a smuch. With an 8 your clutch is not goign to like you and drag racing second gear starts wont happen

our 9 paddle tires were 2 mph faster than our 6's at FSW's. but we were not setup for the 9's to launch consitant. this is on a 450r drag bike.

also 6 paddles on a 300 foot race is way under paddled

9s on the hill on our bike were very inconsistent.

If it were a sand drag race in a 100yrds then yes I would run an 8 with a larger rollout.

I heard a little from mike but has anyone else tested the paddle theory, changing paddles out and going back out and racing against a buddy? 20x10x10 haulers seem really small to me, I like my 22x11x10's.

How many paddles are you running with 22-11-10s ?
