modded Z or modded ex?

Which be a better woods racer and just in general be faster? a 2003 z 400 with a full exhuast or a 1999 400ex with 416 bigbore, Stage 2, hot cam, Lonestar extended axles, Laegar A arms and swing arm, Works shocks front & rear with Res.,

id put my money on the EX but i think with woods racing the skill level of the rider will play a big part in that. ive seen people on blasters run circles around other riders with bigger quads just because they knew there bike and how to ride.

I would say go with the 400ex for sure.

youd be a fool not to take the 400ex. as much as i love my z400, id take that 400ex with all the mods its got.

If I was you I would ride both of them to figure out which one handles better to you then decide!!! Because eventhough the EX
is modded more I still would want the z400 but thats just me!!! You can always modify when you get the money!!! Of course my parents bought my quad about a year ago and for christmas I got most of the mods you will read below. The only things the quad had was a slip-on HMF, bumper, skids and nerfs.

Shopping right I think the price was around $1,000. Thats alot of money I am just happy my parents payed for it!!!!

True which we got for around 3 grand!!! But now the quad needs a new timing chain and while we are fixing that we are probaly going to get stronger valves. So money keeps gettin put in it. My parents theory is its better to fix it now then to blow up the motor later.

my parents theory would probably be for you to put some of your own money into it

the 400ex and the z400 are close in most catagories but when you mod one that far its going to be the quickest even with a little lesser rider.
if it was a 400ex with exhaust or a z400 with cam/bore/a-arms/axle etc.
the z400 would be the hands down choice.
