works shocks squeekin! argh!

hey guys, my works shocks squeek whenever they go up and down and its drivin me nuts and it makes my quad sound like a peice of crap! any idea whats causin this, or more importantly, how can i stop it?

It is b/c works have steel shafts and the sprinks rubb against the saft u can help them from doing this by putting WD40 or chain wax or lube on the shafts.

i tried spectro chain lube and this other lube thats kinda like wd-40 and their still squeekin like a mofo. they didn't squeek when they were brand new...they just started a few days ago

my works do that all the time....i think they get dusty....i noticed after i wash my quad nothing squeaks......i was also wondering if it hurt to clean them with wd 40 i have works at steelers wit rezzies

probably clean your shocks really well, put some chain wax on them then cover them with shock covers. if u put chain wax on without covers it will just make more dirt stick to the shocks.

yeah i'm pretty sure its not the bushings. i don't have any shockwears right now :( i'm gonna get some soon tho and i'll try washin my shocks really good.

mine do it all the time after really dusty rides, i just wash em down put the shock covers back on and they stop, and i thought that the work shocks shafts are chrome plated??

yeah they are chrome plated? why? and i tried all that but their still squeekin..i don't have any shockwears :( and i'm too poor right now to buy some.

i spray a crap load of wd-40 in my shocks after every ride, they don't squeak then

My stock shocks on my 300ex used to sqeak after they got wet, and if i dried them off, and coat them with wd-40 the squeaking went away till the next creek crossing,or the next time i washed it..

Just get yourself a real loud cobra pipe and you wont hear them any more !!!

For real though, they all do that, mine squeak all the time, it is just the nature of the shocks. I notice that if you get a set of shock covers, the ones made of neoprin or wetsuit material, you can't hear it as much. I got mine from a guy on ebay, and love the covers, the shocks are about five months old and look brand new still....

My works shocks squeak only after a good ride with mud and water or a good cleaning. I take my bushings apart and re-grease them and no more noise plus makes the shocks action smoother.

mine make they gayest noises imaginable, they dont hav rezzies, anyway, thats why i hope they explode so i can get some rezzied ones
