Ok

I have a 2002 400ex

I have just completed putting a new top end gasket kit on it

I put the stock pipe on

since with the white brothers e series on it

it is pretty dificult to tune.

I have a K&N airfilter

with a white brothers rev limiter

trying to get it running and ride for a while then

doing more modifications

i did a compression check last night

and i only recieved 80psi

i dont see what is causeing this?

i just put a new top end gasket kit on and there

are no leaks i can see

and i have the jets the book calls

for

38pilot
142main?
please help to hit the trails again sooon!!!
thanks

When you did the compression test did you have the throttle held wide open, if not that can be why its running so low. Did you make sure to keep the starter on unitl it just wouldnt read any higher. If you did all of the above and its still at 80psi its time for a rebuild. Plus since your using the 142 (i assume your using dynojet and not a keihin 142) you may be a little rich.

What gaskets did you actually replace? Why? Did you replace anything else?

Is is possiable that the decompression assembly is causing you a problem? Just a idea.
